1992 is a big year in the history of Skrob. The X-Files and tortellini in tomato sauce take center stage for me while my mother and I watch Scully and Mulder disentangle a new age mystery. As a youngin', I'm very impressionable and from this point forward in my life it is impossible for me to disassociate pasta and movies.
I’ve seen therapy trying to separate my association with pasta and film. I’ve also seen an hypnotist but nothing has succeeded in helping me separate these two non related things. Then in college, when I started watching Italian neorealism — the association between the two has been forever cemented. I just can't shake that scene in Bicycle Thieves where the child is eating noodles in the restaurant -- it's too real!
Alas, now here we found ourselves at skrobthoughts dot com. This is where I pour out all my passion for film, anthology and by virtue of free association, all my passion for pasta.
Enjoy the rants; enjoy the reviews; enjoy the ratings and enjoy the occasional pasta reference.
